Brigham Young University–Idaho

Brigham Young University–Idaho was founded in 1888 as Bannock Stake Academy. It later became Ricks College and served as a two year institution for much of the twentieth century. In 2001 it was reorganized as a four year university and adopted the name Brigham Young University–Idaho. The university is sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and emphasizes undergraduate education.

The main campus is located in Rexburg, Idaho. It includes academic buildings, laboratories, libraries, student residences, recreational facilities, and performance venues. The campus has expanded over time to support increased enrollment and provides facilities designed for teaching, student services, and campus activities.

Brigham Young University–Idaho is governed by the Board of Trustees of the Church Educational System of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A president leads the university and oversees academic affairs, institutional operations, and strategic planning. Administrative and academic units support teaching, student services, and university governance.

The university offers undergraduate programs across disciplines including business, education, engineering, agriculture, humanities, social sciences, and health sciences. It emphasizes teaching focused education, experiential learning, and practical skill development. Academic programs are delivered through on campus and online formats.
