Community College of Baltimore County

The Community College of Baltimore County was established in 1998 through the merger of Catonsville Community College, Dundalk Community College, and Essex Community College. The consolidation created a unified public community college system to serve the educational and workforce needs of Baltimore County. Since its formation, CCBC has expanded its academic offerings, workforce training, and transfer opportunities.

CCBC operates three primary campuses located in Catonsville, Dundalk, and Essex, along with several extension centers throughout Baltimore County. The campuses include academic buildings, laboratories, libraries, health sciences facilities, student centers, and workforce training spaces. This multi-campus structure provides convenient access to students across the region.

The college is governed by a Board of Trustees that oversees institutional policy and strategic planning. A president leads CCBC and is responsible for academic programs, administrative operations, financial management, and community partnerships. Administrative and academic divisions coordinate to support instruction, student services, and workforce development.

CCBC offers associate degrees, certificate programs, continuing education, and workforce training across disciplines including business, health sciences, engineering technology, information technology, education, liberal arts, public safety, and skilled trades. The college maintains transfer agreements with many four-year universities to support students pursuing bachelor's degrees.

Student life at CCBC includes student organizations, leadership programs, cultural events, athletics, and volunteer opportunities. The college provides academic advising, tutoring, career services, counseling, and wellness resources. Its campuses foster an inclusive learning environment while offering students opportunities to engage with local employers and community organizations throughout the Baltimore region.
