Delgato Community College

Delgado Community College traces its origins to a bequest from businessman and philanthropist Isaac Delgado. The institution opened in 1921 as the Isaac Delgado Central Trades School to provide vocational education. It later evolved into a comprehensive two year college, became a public institution under state governance in 1970, and adopted the name Delgado Community College in 1980. Today it is the oldest and largest community college in Louisiana.

The college operates multiple campuses and instructional sites throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area. Its primary locations include the City Park Campus, West Bank Campus, Charity School of Nursing, River City Site, and Sidney Collier Site. These facilities provide classrooms, laboratories, libraries, workforce training centers, and student support services for a broad range of academic and technical programs.

Delgado Community College is part of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System and is governed by the system's Board of Supervisors.
