Grand Rapids Community College

Grand Rapids Community College was founded in 1914 as Grand Rapids Junior College, making it one of the oldest community colleges in the United States. It was established to expand access to higher education for residents of western Michigan. Over the years, the institution broadened its academic offerings and workforce training programs and adopted its current name in 1994.
