Stockton University

Stockton University was founded in 1969 as Richard Stockton State College. The institution was established to expand access to public higher education in southern New Jersey. It began enrolling students in 1971 and gradually broadened its academic programs, research activities, and community engagement. In 2015, it officially adopted the name Stockton University.

The main campus is located in Galloway, New Jersey, on a large wooded site that includes lakes, nature preserves, academic buildings, residence halls, libraries, and recreational facilities. The university also operates additional instructional sites, including a campus in Atlantic City, to support academic programs and community partnerships.

Stockton University is a public institution governed by a Board of Trustees. A president leads the university and oversees academic affairs, strategic planning, research, finance, and institutional operations.
