The University of British Columbia

The University of British Columbia was established in 1908 and began instruction in 1915. It was created to serve higher education needs in western Canada and quickly developed into one of the country’s leading research universities. Over time, UBC expanded its academic programs, research output, and international collaborations, becoming a globally recognized institution.

UBC operates two main campuses: the Vancouver campus and the Okanagan campus in Kelowna. The Vancouver campus is located on the western tip of the Point Grey Peninsula and is known for its coastal setting, forests, and ocean views.
